These are slides of the legislature in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Manitoba is the province west of Ontario, and I was there around 1987.

The statue on top of the Manitoba legislature is called "Golden Boy".
It is barely visible in the first photo.


The structure is a monument to Louis Riel.
He led 2 rebellions of the Metis people against the Canadian government, and was executed.
The Metis are people who are part native, and part French-Canadian.
They consider Louis Riel a hero today.

The car belongs to someone who is not happy with the government.
Look at how big cars were in the olden days :)
