HIRANO SHRINE

This is a shrine that I found by accident when I was lost in Kyoto looking for RYOANJI. According to the sign it is called WARA TEN JINGU.

It's the first time I have seen supports to keep trees standing like this.


I think that the buildings are the tombs of the Fujiwara emperors.

I took these pictures in Spring 2005.
