Finally, after spending 2 or 3 days re-installing Windows XP, I have the Optex slide scanner working.
These are the first slide scans. It looks like Fort MacMurray, Alberta, which is a small town near the Arctic Circle where I worked for 3 months around 1987.
Fort MacMurray is/was only a few thousand people, but it is a very important place for Canada because it has oil.
The building on the left side of the street is the Peter Pond shopping mall, which is/was the only shopping mall in town.
I think that the water is the Athabasca River. People don't go outside much, because of the black-flies. Usually they stay inside and drink. ha ha.
Most of the trees up north look like this. They are very tall and thin, with short branches.
