This is the bridge to Ise Jingu, and I think that these posts are to mark the place where the bridge is re-built every 20 years.

Every 20 years, the Ise Jingu shrine (and the bridge) are taken down and then re-built using cedar trees which are grown on the grounds. This has been done every 20 years for more than 6 centuries.
