still - adverb - means that it was true in the past and it is true now.

example:

The garbagemen are still on strike in Toronto.
or
The garbagemen are on strike still.
or
Still the garbagemen are on strike. (formal or strong)


still - adjective - means that something is not moving.

The waters are still. (calm)

Sit still. (Sit and don't move.)
