VERB TENSES (FOR THE PAST)
1. SIMPLE PAST: I went to city hall.
2. PAST PERFECT: I had gone to city hall.
3. PAST PROGRESSIVE: I was going to city hall.
4. PAST PROGRESSIVE PERFECT: I had been going to city hall.
