thinking outside the box ...
... is an expression that means:
thinking in a different way than other people, or
finding a new solution
For example, some people in Holland are building a house out of plastic blocks (made by a 3D printer). They are thinking outside the box.
The opposite would be: stuck in the box
This means: always doing things the same way, never thinking of a new way
For example: They always drew in the same style; they were stuck in the box.

Toshiba Camileo B10
I bought this cheap video camera a few weeks ago and it's been nothing but trouble.
Yesterday when I plugged it into my PC, it kept giving the message "Windows Driver not Available".
Finally at 3 a.m., I figured out that the battery is not seated touching the electrical contacts properly.
You have to slide the cover off to see the battery.
Take the battery out and then put it back in again.
