"Bob's your uncle."
This is an old English expression that means: everything will be ok.
For example: Obey the law and Bob's your uncle.
means: If you obey the law, everything will be ok.
This expression comes from a famous English general named Bob who took care of his men.

an old Chinese curse is ...
"May you live in interesting times."
This means: if interesting or exciting things are happening, it's probably dangerous.

cat on a hot tin roof
... is an expression for someone or something that is very busy or excited.
This is because if a cat is on a hot roof, it will be jumping around a lot.
"Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" is also the name of a famous play and movie made about 60 years ago.

groggy
'groggy' is an adjective meaning: sleepy, slow-witted.
I think it originally came from the Old English word 'grog', which is slang for beer or alcohol, especially cheap alcohol which people used to get drunk.
By the way, the origin of the word 'alcohol' is Arabic. It was originally "al-kuhl", and in French it is 'alcool'. I always have trouble spelling this word.
