ESL: Comparatives
If the adjective ends in the letter "y", you change the "y" to "i" and add "er" to make the comparative form.
Which gargoyles are funnier, the ones on the top row, or the ones on the bottom row?
These gargoyles are on the Rogers Centre, which used to be called the Skydome.
It's the first stadium in the world with a retractable roof (a roof that opens and closes).
This is where the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team plays.
We won the World Series in 1992 & 1993.
Rogers is a big cable TV company in Canada.
In Canada, we usually use the French spelling of 'centre', not the American spelling 'center'.
ESL: Comparatives: tall -> taller
Which building is taller, the one on the left or the one on the right?
The one on the right is taller.
The one on the left is the TD Centre, owned by the Toronto-Dominion Bank. It's 54 stories high.
The one on the right is First Canadian Place, owned by the Bank of Montreal (BMO). It's the tallest building in Toronto at 62 stories high.

This is the War Memorial in front of Toronto's Old City Hall.
"Passchendaele" is written near the top.
Passchendaele is a place in Belgium near Flanders where many Canadian troops fought and died during World War I (1914-1918).
There was also a Canadian movie made last year named "Passchendaele" about the battle.

I live in Canada.
Canada is north of the U.S.A.
In Canada, most people speak English and some people speak French.
I'm making this blog to help people learn English.
