A 'creek' is a small river.
The expression 'up the creek without a paddle' or 'up the creek' means:
to be in trouble and not able to do anything.
For example: If you go to a country and you can't speak the language, you're up the creek.
This blog is mainly to explain a different English language expression every day. Sometimes I post other stuff. I also have a YouTube channel which is mostly about computer software: https://www.youtube.com/englishspacedog
